My thoughts on the education system of singapore

Recently, i had read the news article on "Strengthening the Foundation for Future Learning - Enhancing Primary Education" at the MOE website. It says that "MOE wants to
enhance academic and co-curricular programmes to nurture lifeskills and develop character in our pupils from a young age; and moving towards single-session primary schools to create more space and time for holistic learning" (MOE, 2008) . MOE is actually still reviewing on this and i think this 2 strategies highlights what Hui Ching says about the examination system which we have in Singapore should be examine on academic and non-academic areas.
Personally, i feel that singapore examination is a rather a rigid one. We cannot deny the fact that schools are still emphasising more on the students academic results than the non-academic areas. Changes to be made to the examination system is possible but it needs time to carry out. I think studying in Singapore is rather stressful as i had read a survey that says, singapore kids most afraid of failing exams. But for kids in other countries like korea, they said that they most afraid of losing their parents. Indeed most of the singapore kids have the fear for exams and of course, i am one of them when i took my 'O' Levels during secondary sch days. Except that i quite enjoyed one of the non-examination subject(exclude NAPFA test) during secondary school was physical education. I really enjoyed the whole learning process and all the games and sports which my teacher taught me. Examples games like floorball, netball, badminton etc...
